“That good thing which was committed to you, keep by the Holy Spirit who dwells in us.” 2 Timothy 1:14
Jesus taught The Parable of the Sower, where the seeds represent the word of God in your life. Any word you believe to be truth automatically becomes a seed. It reveals the possibility that the word of God can become of no effect in our lives, either by our own actions or by the devil corrupting the words spoken about us.
So, returning to 2 Timothy, it serves as a warning that there is one who wants to take what has been given to us. How can these good things be taken from you? Have you ever gone somewhere and been told something contrary to what the Lord has said concerning you? The nature of the devil is lies; there is no truth to be found in him. Let me show you how the Lord can speak to you, and if you believe another, that word never sprouts in your life.
There have been words spoken concerning you in the Bible that you may have thought are no longer attainable, but that is just a lie spoken to you. Those deposits are still in your spirit; you need to go back and remind yourself and, with the help of the Holy Spirit, bring them to life again.
Look at the life of Jesus. Throughout His life, He expressed that His will is to do what the Lord has said for Him to do. His whole life, He did nothing that wasn’t in the will of God for Him. While on earth, we know Jesus was a man of prayer. He would pray to obtain what the Father would have Him do in that moment.
“Then I said, ‘Behold, I have come— In the volume of the book it is written of Me— To do Your will, O God.’” Hebrews 10:7
"For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me." John 6:38
"Jesus said to them, ‘My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work.’" John 4:34
"Then Jesus answered and said to them, ‘Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner.’" John 5:19
Like Jesus, we should obtain the words of God for our life. I’ve told you before how we are God’s people. When we pray, He will show us great and mighty things we do not know (Jeremiah 33:3). You can also open your Bible and find where it is written concerning you, and sit with these words until they become a seed in your life.
